Iranian athletes win three golds in Asian Indoor

TEHRAN,Feb.20(MNA)--Three Iranian athletes claimed gold medals at the fifth Asian Indoor Athletics Championships at Hangzhou, China. Reza Ghasemi won the gold in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.68 seconds on Sunday. Maryam Tousi clinched gold medal in women’s 400-meter dash, clocking 53.85 seconds. She also qualified for The 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics, which will be held in Istanbul from March 9 to 11. Reza Bouazar won the gold in the 400 meters event with a time of 48.04 seconds. Iranian woman shot putter Leila Rajabi claimed a silver medal in the first day with a throw of 17.50 meters. Hassan Heidarpour seized the bronze in 60 meters with a time of 6.78 seconds. Amin Ghelichi also won the bronze in the 400-meter event with a time of 48.64 seconds. Sepideh Tavakkoli claimed the bronze medal in Pentathlon. Iran took part in the competitions with 14 athletes.
