Khalid bin Hamad: Bahrain has strong fighters capable of victory

Manama, Nov. 14 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), was keen to support the fighters of our National MMA Team on the second day competitions of the Amateur World MMA Championship, the biggest sports event of its kind in Asia, part of BRAVE International Combat week. The event is currently held in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, organised by BMMAF in partnership with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and BRAVE Combat Federation, featuring the 5th edition of the Amateur World Championships and the 18th edition of the BRAVE Championship, on November 11 to 18 at the Khalifa Sports City. His Majesty the King's Support: HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the World MMA Championship has become an ideal way to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain and its achievements of development and urbanisation in the glorious era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in addition to the accomplishments of the Bahrain youth and sports movement. Bahrain is Home to Mixed Martial Arts: HH Shaikh Khalid said, "The Kingdom of Bahrain has the confidence of international federations to organise major championships on its soil, achieving success and propelling sustained future fruition. This applies to the World MMA Championship, which Bahrain was chosen to host for two successive years by the wish of the IMMAF to make the championship succeed and spread the sport globally." World Media Attention: HH Shaikh Khalid continued, "The World MMA Championship is among the most important championships currently hosted by the Kingdom, which has placed Bahrain in the spotlight of international media attention, highlighting its outstanding achievements, especially in sports. On our part, we are working on the excellent organisation of the championship, with experience that has enabled us to secure the factors of success. We are fully convinced that all are aware of the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon them to exert every effort to reflect the Kingdom’s brilliance in these sports forums." Bahrain’s Edition is Best: HH Shaikh Khalid pointed out "Fans of BRAVE are fully aware that Bahrain’s edition is the best in all respects. Apart from the figures revealed by the championship in terms of participation and quality, we are presented with a new benchmark, which is the distinguished levels demonstrates by fighters from different countries in today’s fights." Participation of Bahrain’s Fighters: HH Shaikh Khalifa highlighted Bahrain's participation in the World Championship and said, "Bahrain’s team has strong fighters who have international experience, which qualifies them to compete for the titles of the championship. We look forward to Bahrain taking an ample share of world championship titles, knowing that competition is strong, but trusting in the capabilities of our fighters and their keenness to honour Bahrain."
