Lorenzo Declared Fit For Malaysian Motorcycle GP
SEPANG, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Five-time world champion, Jorge Lorenzo of Ducati Team will be back on the track this weekend after missing the race in Thailand, Japan and Australia due to injury.
According to the official MotoGP website, www.motogp.com, Lorenzo was given the nod to be on track this weekend from Sepang International Circuit doctors.
"Just eight days ago they operated on the ligaments in my wrist but I feel much better,” said Lorenzo.
"It’s still very early and we need to wait to see how my wrist is on the bike, what risks there are and how much pain I feel when I’m riding. I hope I can ride but I’ve still not recovered 100 per cent and the Sepang circuit is very demanding and not really the ideal stage to get back on track," he added.
Lorenzo suffered a fractured wrist in his big Buriram crash and after attempting to ride at the Twin Ring Motegi, he flew home to undergo surgery.
The Spaniard missed both the Japanese GP and Australian GP, with Alvaro Bautista of Angel Nieto Team replacing him in Phillip Island.
Ducati test rider Michele Pirro is on the track side and on standby if it turns out that Lorenzo is unable to compete.
