Malaysian Tigress Beat QAS 3-1 In Third Match
KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 (Bernama) – The women's hockey squad finally finds its rhythm to beat Queensland Academy of Sports (QAS) 3-1 in a third friendly match at the Brisbane Hockey Centre in Australia Thursday.
The Malaysian Tigress squad, which was preparing for the 2018 Asian Games, was previously tied 2-2 and 1-1 against the same team.
Nuraini Rashid became the national hero when she scored twice, while another goal came from Hanis Nadia Onn.
Commenting on the action, head coach Muhammad Dharmaraj Abdullah said he was delighted at the performance of his players who managed to finish three of the five first corner strokes.
"It was a very nice feeling to win after two draws. We defended and countered well and had produced many opportunities.
"We did not give any chance and corner strikes to the opponent in the last quarter, "he said through the WhatsApp application.
The Malaysia Tigress squad would meet QAS at 3 pm (Malaysia time) Friday and Sunday 1 pm to complete the Australian tour.
