Nasser bin Hamad awards handball champions

Manama, June 24 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee has awarded Al-Nibras team as the champions of the handball tournament of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and eighth Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8) after winning against Al-Arabi 31-20. HH Shaikh Nasser handed over the cup to Al-Nibras, awarded the runner-up Al-Arabi, the best seven players and referees of the championship. In a kind initiative, HH Shaikh Nasser honoured the local handball league champions Barbar team. The club president Mohammed Madan received the award. HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the success of the tournament reflects the achievement gained by the championship in its new version this year, by including more group games including handball, volleyball and basketball. He praised Al-Nibras' great performance throughout the championship and winning the title of the first edition of the tournament. He appreciated the efforts of the organising committee for bringing out a successful championship and promoting the noble goals it was set for.
