National handball team wins Asia Cup

Manama, Sept. 27 (BNA): HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Basketball Association, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s winning Asian Handball Cup twice consecutively and subsequently qualifying for the World Cup finals. HH Shaikh Isa considered the big athletic achievement of our national handball team as realistic embodiment of caring for sports sector and the provision of all capabilities that boost Bahrain’s position in the regional, continental and international sports arena. HH Shaikh Isa congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, on this great achievement, praising His Highness’s remarkable support to the national team and his perpetual encouragement to attain highest ranking in the various sports demonstrations, adding that the national handball team’s winning the Asian cup and qualification for the world cup prove the Bahraini handball prestigious rating and strong position at the continental level. HH Shaikh Isa expressed great confidence in the outstanding efforts being exerted by the Bahraini Handball Association led by Ali Isa in  the distinctive preparation of our national team for participation in the Asian Handball Championship. He also took pride in the huge technical standards presented by the stars of our national team throughout the championship and their faithful representation of the Kingdom in the best possible manner.
