New Category Introduced For 2019 ARRC Competition

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) for the 2019 season is expected to be more intense among the teams competing with the introduction of a new category, namely, ASB1,000cc (Asia Superbike) and a one-lap increase to seven rounds overall. ARRC promoter, Two Wheels Motor Racing Sdn Bhd, in a statement, announced that the International Circuit of Korea would be the latest circuit to be included in the calender of the race, but the two-race format introduced since 2000, remained for next season's competition. In addition, the championship also maintained three existing categories: SuperSports 600cc, Asia Production 250cc and Underbone 150cc. The 2019 season would start with a pre-season test session at Sepang International Circuit on March 5 and 6, 2019 before the first round at the same venue on March 8-10. 2019 ARRC Calender: First round:  Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia (March 8-10) Second round: The Bend Motorsport Park, Australia (April 25-28) Third round: Chang International Circuit, Thailand (May 31-June 2) Fourth round: Suzuka Circuit, Japan (June 28-30) Fifth round: Korean International Circuit, South Korea ( Aug 9-11) Sixth round: Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia (Sept 19-22) Seventh round: Chang International Circuit, Thailand (Nov 29-Dec 1) -- BERNAMA
