Qatar National Team Qualifies for FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019

Jakarta, October 28 (QNA) - Qatar National Football Team has become the first Asian side to book their place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019 after a thrilling 7-3 extra-time win against Thailand in the AFC U-19 Championship quarter-finals. The team will face the winner of the South Korea-Tajikistan match, who plays on Monday, in the semifinals. The Qatari team ranked the first in their group with 6 points in three games, losing to UAE and then winning against Indonesia 6-5 and China's Taipei by 4-0. On the other hand, Thailand won second place in the second group with 4 points from three games, where it was tied with Iraq 3-3, lost to Japan 1-3 and defeated North Korea 2-1. The teams with the first four positions in the tournament get to qualify to represent the continent of Asia in the finals of the Youth World Cup 2019 in Poland. (QNA)
