Qatar Olympic Football Team Knocked Out of Asian Games

Jakarta, August 20 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic national football team have been eliminated from Asian Games, which is held in Indonesia and lasts until September 2, after losing 1-0 to Bangladesh in the last round of Group B matches. Bangladesh sealed the victory in the third minute of the stoppage-time after Jamal Bhuiyan scored the winning at Pakansari Stadium in Indonesia. In Group B, Uzbekistan beat Thailand 1-0 to top the group with nine points from three matches. Bangladesh are the runners-up of Group B with four points, followed by Thailand with two points, then Qatar with one point. Uzbekistan and Bangladesh qualified for the round of 16. Thailand still have hope to advance to the round of 16 among the best third-place teams. The first round of Group B matches saw, Uzbekistan beat Bangladesh 3-0 and Thailand drew 1-1 with Qatar. In the second round, Uzbekistan beat Qatar 6-0 and Thailand drew 1-1 with Bangladesh. (QNA)
