QMMF President Praises Organization of Qatar Baja Rally

Doha, October 13 (QNA) - President of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai said Saturday that the 3rd round of Qatar Baja rally had stronger competition this year, in light of participation from new racers this year. Speaking to the press following the conclusion of the event, he said that this year's edition was well-organized. He also noted that the win of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Eid Al-Thani was no surprise; given his great experience and focus on winning these type of events. He then thanked members of the federation and everyone who worked on organizing the rally this year following the summer break. He also praised the level of competition this year, despite the small number of racers. On the absence of Adel Hussien, the leader of the previous two rounds, Al Mannai said that Hussein had just returned from a rally in Morocco and is fresh from competing in cross-country rally, and so opted to take a break just for this round. On cancelling the competition for the motorbike category, he said that it was cancelled this year as the number of participants did not cross the required threshold. (QNA)
