Saar, A’ali deservedly qualify for Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League Final
Manama, July 31 (BNA): Member of the Hospitality and Leisure Committee of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Saudi Arabia, CEO of the Leaders of Change Organisation for Exhibitions and Conferences, Mariam Issa Al-Ajmi, praised the competitions of the the 6th Khalid bin Hamad League, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, and organised by the Ministry Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, from 24 June to 9 August. The league is part of HH’s initiatives in support of youth in sports and humanitarian fields.
The league is held this year with the wide participation of youth centres, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities.
Ideal Environment
While attending the semi-finals of the Girls’ League of the Khalid bin Hamad League, Al-Ajmi said: “His Highness has provided an ideal environment for an important segment of the community to take its place and practise its athletic hobbies in a competitive environment.” She affirmed that HH was keen to implement the vision and guidance of the wise leadership to embrace youth, pushing them towards developing their abilities to reflect on Bahraini sports.
Al-Ajmi praised the great role played by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs under the chairmanship of HE Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder in implementing programmes and events aimed at supporting youth, empowering them and developing sports in the Kingdom. She also thanked the efforts of the Organising Committee in organising this event.
Pioneering Initiative
From her side, Al-Jawhari Al-Ajmi, Co-Founder of Change Leaders and a partner in the Koora Sports Show, confirmed that setting up a special tournament for girls in the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is a pioneering initiative that will have a significant impact on the development of women's sport in the Kingdom.
Saar Club Reach Final!
Saar Club qualified for the final match of the Clubs League of the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League after defeating Tubli Club 3-1. Their victory was made possible thanks to their goalkeeper Sayed Luay Salman who made several eye-catching saves to also win the best man of the match award. Saar Club will meet A'ali Club in the final after the latter defeating Barbar Club 3-0. Astonishingly, their goals arrived in the space of three minutes starting from the 23rd minute to sink Barbar Club. Contributing tremendously to their victory was Mohammed Abdullah, who scored the second goal.
In the Girls League, Al Quwah progressed to the final after beating Al Tahadi in the penalty shoot-out. The match reached the penalty shoot-out after it concluded on 2-2. Aya Bassem Sharaf of Al Tahadi starred during the match and won the best player of the game despite her team's defeat. Joining Al Quwah in the final match were Al Esrar who thrashed Al Attaa 5-0. Hajer Abdulrahman contributed a brace in the match to also be named the best player of the match.
