UAE pays off support share for Somalia, Sudan

Cairo - Jan 18, 2010 (WAM)- The United Arab Emirates has paid its share of financial assistance pledged for Somalia and Sudan by the Arab Summit in Doha. Acting Charge d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Egypt Abdullah Mohammed Bin Abboud delivered US$ 1.244 million to Assistant Secretary of the Arab League Samir Said Yazal for the league's Somalia support Fund. The UAE has also paid US$ 1.327 million in support for Sudan's Darfur region.
