UAE elected to Vice-chairmanship of ICAO's Air Transport Committee
Abu Dhabi, Jan 21, 2010 (WAM)- Recognising the United Arab Emirates unyielding commitment to furthering and strengthening the role of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), on 13 January 2010, Capt. Aysha Al Hamili, UAE's Representative on the Council, was unanimously elected as Vice-Chairperson of the Air Transport Committee.
The Committee, which is one of the Council's advisory bodies established by the 1944 Chicago Convention, seeks to submit proposals to the Council for the adoption of Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) relating to air transport. It also presents studies and recommendations on air transport matters, and it initiates proposals for amendments to the provisions of the Chicago Convention in this field.
