Arab information ministers hold meeting
Cairo - Jan 25, 2010 (WAM)- The Council of Arab Information Ministers called during a meeting held here yesterday for a step by the Arab circles in the United States to warn about the negative effects on an anticipated decision to penalise Arab satellite channels operators.
The UAE's delegation for the meeting was headed by H.E. Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Labour '&' Chairman of the National Media Council. The Council emphasised at the end of its meeting the need for the Arab countries to continue their media efforts to counter extremism, violence, sectarianism and terrorism, while adhering to the media freedom and differentiating between terrorism and the Arab people's right to resist Israeli occupation.
