RCA to send relief aid to Gaza

Abu Dhabi, Jan 27, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will dispatch today an aid convoy to Gaza Strip through the Rafah Border Crossing to relieve people affected by recent floods. RCA Chairman Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouie said the convoy is carrying food and medical supplies worth Dh 3 million to meet basic needs of people there. The recent floods, he said, had aggravated the suffering of Gazans and the RCA saw it is necessary to act urgently by launching a humanitarian programme to meet their living and heath needs.
