Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation will send largest international relief aid to Haiti's victims
Abu Dhabi, Jan 27, 2010 (WAM)- Under the instructions of President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation is preparing to implement the second phase of emergency relief assistance to those affected as a result of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
The second phase of emergency relief ordered by His Highness UAE President is considered one of the largest international relief aid that will be implemented through direct purchase from the local market in the Dominican Republic to about 500 tons of emergency relief items and necessary supplies.
The foundation has embarked immediately in implementing the directives of His Highness the President of the State to provide support and assistance to those affected in Haiti and has completed its preparations to implement the second relief program to meet the urgent and necessary needs of the target people at the moment in coordination with the Government of Dominica.
HE Clara Martinez, Dominican Ambassador to the UAE hailed the charitable and humanitarian work of the UAE in general and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation in particular to mitigate sufferings of the people facing wars, calamities and natural disasters.
