Abu Dhabi to host opening round of Red Bull Air Race 2010
Abu Dhabi, Feb 3, 2010 (WAM)- Abu Dhabi will next month host the opening round of the thrilling Red Bull Air Race World Championship as 15 of the world's top pilots vie for starter points glory in the UAE capital's skies.
And this year the opening championship round will be the centrepiece of a Red Bull Air Race festival designed to create a community event with exciting air shows, special encounters with the pilots, live broadcasts from Port Zayed, home to the Red Bull Air Race temporary airport, aircraft displays as well as concerts and family fun activities along Abu Dhabi's signature Corniche.
The event marks the sixth anniversary of Abu Dhabi's relationship with the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, with the UAE capital leg being held under the patronage of HH. Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
