The UAE Cabinet concludes sessions with declaration of historic National Charter for 2021

Western Region - Feb 7, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE Cabinet concluded here yesterday its marathon sessions held at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort with declaration of the UAE National Charter for 2021.
Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced the UAE National Historic Charter for year 2021, which coincides with the country's golden jubilee anniversary under the theme: "We want to be one of the best countries in the world".
In presence of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime and Minister of Interior and HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Affairs Minister, Sheikh Mohammed specified four main components of the national charter: firstly, ambitious confident people, who stick to their heritage, secondly, strong union with common destiny, thirdly, competitive economy led by UAE nationals characterised with innovation and knowledge, and fourthly high quality life endowed with sustainable environment.
On the first component of the charter, the Vice President said, it refers to "the UAE nationals with ambition and high sense of responsibility, who are capable of drawing future with confidence and participate effectively in sustainable socio-economic environment based on stability, solidarity, moderate Islamic values and original national heritage."
About strong union, he said "it is a strong union with common destiny that protects Emiratis and advocates balanced development to make the UAE effective power". The third component, he continued, "is the knowledge diverse flexible economy led by skilled professional Emiratis".
Sheikh Mohammed noted that the fourth item in the national charter talks about "prosperous UAE nationals who enjoy long life, good health, quality education and other distinguished services provided by the government".
He underscored the significance of charter, which embodies UAE future vision until 2021 in which the country will mark golden jubilee of the union. "The union proceeds in the footsteps of founding fathers in the light of their strong determination and extrapolation", Sheikh Mohammed said, adding that the UAE nationals are now reaping fruits of our speedy economic growth.
The Vice President warned that ambitious nation cannot rely on the past or current achievements, but looks forward to scoring more achievements through striving hard and vigilance to overcome challenges.
He noted that no Cabinet reshuffle at the moment, citing that the performances of ministers determine that.
