UAE President holds talks with his Turkmen counterpart

Abu Dhabi, Feb 16, 2010 (WAM)- UAE President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan met yesterday President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on the sideline of his visit to the central Asian country.
As he welcomed the UAE President, the head of state of Turkmenistan hailed the UAE-Turkmenistan bonds of cooperation and friendship.
The two presidents discussed ways of enhancing these relations in light of the good results produced by the recent visit by President Berdimuhamedow to the UAE. During the trip, the two countries sealed a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding.
Noting the marked progress in bilateral relations over the recent years, the UAE President stressed the importance of further developing mechanisms of implementation of these agreements and memos in order to enable bilateral bonds meet aspired ambitions and objectives.
The Turkmen President said he was delighted at meeting his UAE counterpart, wishing bilateral ties more progress in all domains.
He commended the UAE's development model under the prudent leadership of Sheikh Khalifa and expressed his country's desire to draw lessons from the UAE rich experience particularly in the private sector.
The two leaders exchanged views on a number of regional and international topics of mutual concern. Top officials from the UAE and Turkmenistan attended the meeting.
