UAE values Iraq's commitment towards human rights
Geneva - Feb 17, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE yesterday expressed satisfaction at Iraq's sincere efforts to promote the culture of human rights and uphold these rights.
UAE Permanent Representative to United Nations office in Geneva Ambassador Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, told the seventh session of the Human Rights Council's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group on Iraq's human rights that the UAE appreciates Baghdad's drive to enhance its cooperation with the UN human rights organs to nurture and spread the culture of human rights.
He added that Iraq had shown commitment towards respect and protection of human rights by creating a ministry for human rights, the national human rights institute and the higher commission for human rights.
