Speaker of Swedish Parliament to start a five-day trip to UAE today
Abu Dhabi, Feb 21, 2010 (WAM)- H.E. Per Westerberg, Speaker of the Swedish Parliament (Sveriges riksdag), will embark today on a five-day visit to the UAE in response to an invitation extended to him by Speaker of UAE Federal National Council (FNC) H.E. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair.
The Emirati and Swedish speakers will hold talks on Monday over mechanisms of boosting parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries. The talks will be followed by a joint press conference.
The Swedish speaker will also hold a series of meetings with top UAE officials to explore ways of bolstering bilateral bonds and discuss issues of mutual concern.
The Riksdag, the national legislative assembly of Sweden, is a unicameral assembly with 349 members who are elected on a proportional basis to serve fixed terms of four years.
