UAE Ambassador to Washington concludes successful trip to Dallas by meeting with community leaders

Washington, D.C. Feb 21, 2010 (WAM)- HE Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, concluded a successful trip to Dallas, Texas on Thursday with a dinner with business, military and community leaders from the Dallas/Fort Worth community. Guests at the dinner included Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, Perot Systems Corporation founder Ross Perot, Sr., and former US Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley.
The dinner, hosted by Ross Perot, Jr., Chairman of Hillwood and The Perot Group, served as an opportunity to celebrate and reinforce the strong and wide-ranging ties between Texas and the UAE. Texas ranks second among all US states in exports to the UAE, with more than US$1.5 billion worth of goods sold to UAE customers in 2009 alone.
"Dallas feels like home to me," said Ambassador Al Otaiba, reflecting on the close ties between Texas and the UAE. "In addition to a shared spirit of hospitality, our common proximity to the desert, and our long history of collaboration in the oil and gas sector, we continue to partner in a growing number of areas, from renewable energy and health care to defence and real estate."
The Dallas trip is part of the Ambassador's continuous efforts to further enhance the already strong bilateral relations with the US.
