French research vessel to call at Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, Feb 25, 2010 (WAM) - The scientific vessel Tara will be calling at Abu Dhabi from February 26 to March 2nd 2010.
This scientific program, organised by Tara Expeditions, in association with a large number of international laboratories and researchers from numerous countries, is called "Tara Oceans". It is taking place under the auspices of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). This 3 years expedition will visit more than 50 countries.
This program involves a pedagogic and information dimension, regarding environmental and scientific issues. Samples will be collected in the framework of marine scientific research in the United Arab Emirates.
St Phane Pesant, the scientific coordinator of Tara Oceans, and Herv Bourmaud, Tara's captain, who are the speakers of this expedition, will hold a press conference on board of the vessel, on Sunday February 28th 2010.
