Ministerial Services Commission endorses TV Audience measurement law

Abu Dhabi, Mar 15, 2010 (WAM)- The Ministerial Services Commission (MSC) has endorsed a draft law tabled by the National Media Council (NMC) on the TV Audience Measurement Project.
In the meeting held here yesterday under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister '&' Minister of Presidential Affairs, the MSC passed the draft law for the project which aims at producing accurate, reliable, and actionable data of television viewership behaviour patterns for better advertisement planning.
The system allows advertisers to gauge their returns on marketing and branding investment. It entails a round-the-clock monitoring of viewership habits to determine the types of programmes preferred to the viewers.
The MSC also approved the draft of the UAE's Second National Communication on Greenhouses Gas Emissions which highlights the country's efforts in reducing emissions in line with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change which aims at stabilisation of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. The MSC members discussed other topics on the agenda and took appropriate decisions on them.
