UAE is committed to OPEC output quota: Hameli
Abu Dhabi, March 18, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE will be fully committed to its OPEC production quota, UAE Minister of Energy HE Mohammed Bin Dhaen Al Hameli affirmed today, adding the adherence by other OPEC members “is not a source of pleasure”.
Speaking hours before the 156th OPEC ministerial meeting here, said the current level of oil prices is ‘good’. What is important to us is keep prices at the current levels in order to back up recovery of global economy.
In remarks to reporters upon arrival in Vienna at the head of the UAE delegation participating in the meeting, Al Hameli said that the oil market now has an adequate supply of crude oil.
The minister believed that there will be no need to call an extraordinary meeting ahead of the next September ministerial meeting should the situation in the market remains it is.
