Promotional exhibition for Etihad Airways and ADTA in Tokyo
Tokyo - March 23, 2010 (WAM)- Etihad Airways, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) organised a promotional exhibition in the Japanese capital Tokyo, to mark the opening of direct airline route between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo on Sunday, March 28, 2010.
The three days exhibition has been designed in the form of an "Etihad aircraft" and its outstanding services. The entrance to the exhibition has been designed to match the plane's entrance, for visitors to be briefed on the quality of services provided for passengers of all classes. After moving out of the plane's wings, visitors gets to an Arabian tent containing tourist services at the airport and the "transit" section, in addition to a mini golf course, a theatre to view a Ferrari for the Grand Prix car race hosted by Abu Dhabi.
H.E. Saeed Ali Yousef Al Nuwais, UAE Ambassador to Japan said that opening a direct airline route from Abu Dhabi to Japan gives a significant economic implication for many Japanese people are interested in travelling to the UAE and neighbouring countries, such as GCC countries, in addition to African and Asian States, pointing out that around 3500 Japanese are UAE residents, besides many Japanese visitors to the country.
It should be mentioned that Etihad Airways is scheduled to begin operating five direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo daily except Wednesdays and Fridays. The first flight from AD to Narita Airport near Tokyo will be launched on the 28th of March, 2010, consuming almost 10 hours, and on the same day, the flight will fly back from Narita to AD, consuming around 11 hours and 40 minutes.
ADTA have organised a variety of events during the exhibition in addition to the distribution of tourism brochures about the possibilities and advantages of Abu Dhabi's tourism, besides providing Arabic coffee and henna drawing.
