UNDP Special Representative in the occupied Palestinian territory hails UAE efforts in Palestine
Abu Dhabi, Mar 23, 2010 (WAM)- Jens Anders Toyberg Frandzen, United Nations Development Programme UNDP Special Representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, yesterday highlighted the importance of UAE efforts to improve the deteriorating humanitarian conditions of the Palestinian People.
He said during his visit to the UAE Red Crescent Authority headquarters that UNDP appreciates the humanitarian programmes and development projects carried out by UAE Red Crescent Authority in the health, educational, services and living sectors to alleviate the sufferings of the Palestinians and provide them with decent sources of living.
He lauded the reconstruction projects carried out by RCA in Gaza Strip and the West Bank as pioneering projects in Palestine.
During the visit, the UN official and Dr. Saleh Al Taie, acting Deputy Secretary General of the RCA for Relief, discussed progress of work in several projects which is funded by RCA and executed by the UNDP. Among these projects, is a 55 house town in the West Bank.
The two sides also explored ways of enhancing their joint partnerships for the sake of implementing more projects serving the Palestinian people.
