ADCO award US$560 million contract for development of Qusahwira Field
Abu Dhabi, Mar 24, 2010 (WAM)- Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) has awarded a US$560 million contract to the locally based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) to develop the first phase of the new Qusahwira Field located south east of Abu Dhabi Emirate that was discovered in 1975.
General Manager of ADCO Abdul Moneim Al Kindi and General Manager of NPCC Aqeil Madi signed the contract yesterday.
A company press release said yesterday that seven (7) qualified companies submitted bids for the Qusahwira Development contract, including Abu Dhabi based companies NPCC and Technip; India's Larsen '&' Toubro; South Korea's GS Engineering '&' Construction and South Korea's SK Engineering and Construction; Italy's Saipem with Dubai based Dodsal and Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas.
The project scope includes construction of new Central Degassing Station, Remote Degassing Station, oil gathering system, production supporting systems and the Main Oil Line to Asab Field.
The Qusawhira phase (1) calls for adding 30,000 BOPD sustainable by 2013 to achieve ADCO's target of the 1.8 MMBOPD.
Al Kindi said the three phase development plan would commence in 2010 and end by 2017.
He disclosed that ADCO would conclude within the few coming weeks a $ 250 million contract for development of Bada Al Qamzan Field to produce 20,000 barrels per day. ''This contract will be the final one in the first phase of development of onshore oil fields in Abu Dhabi, he told a press conference yesterday.
He added that developments of the US$5 billion first phase will add 225,000 bpd to ADCO's output capacity by 2012.
