Al Ghurair heads first meeting of PUIC
Bangkok - Mar 30, 2010 (WAM)- H.E Abdul-Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Federal National Council and Chairman of Parliamentary union of the OIC member states (PUIC) headed the first coordination meeting of the union.
The meeting assured the importance of coordination between member states of union and uniting efforts to show solidarity among Muslim countries, before the 122nd IPU Assembly being held in Bangkok.
Al Ghurair pointed out that the idea of transforming the union into an international organisation is not feasible for the Arab region and the Islamic countries, and that the member states at the PUIC should move with the Arab group in one direction to prevent this from happening through participating in decision-making to preserve interests of Islamic countries, its sovereignty and laws.
