UAE and Tuvalu establish diplomatic relations
New York - April 1, 2010 (WAM)- The United Arab Emirates has signed a communiqué with The Republic of Tuvalu establishing immediate diplomatic relations on ambassadorial level.
The signing ceremony took place in New York, with UAE represented by its permanent Envoy at the UN, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman and Tuvalu represented by its permanent delegate at the UN, Afelee F. Pita.
The communiqué formalises a joint desire for political, economic, humanitarian and cultural cooperation.
It should be mentioned that the Republic of Tuvalu is a Polynesian island nation located in the Pacific Ocean, midway between Hawaii and Australia.
