Crown Prince of Norway to visit the country
Abu Dhabi, April 5, 2010 (WAM)- Crown Prince of Norway Prince Haakon Magnus, will start his official visit to the country on April 13th, 2010. Prince Haakon will be accompanied by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Energy and Foreign Trade, in addition to more than 80 businessmen from Norway.
This official visit to the UAE aims to strengthen economic relations between both countries and support cooperation in renewable energy, oil, gas, environment and marine transportation fields. The visit will include meetings and seminars in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, besides meeting the management team of "Masdar" to exchange experiences on the establishment of green cities free of carbon and generating power from the sun and wind. It will also include a seminar in Mina Al Salam Hotel in Dubai on cooperation between both countries in marine projects, ports and employment of modern technology in maritime transport and maintenance of large ships.
The programme of the visit also includes an economic forum to be held at Emirates Palace under the title "Partners in Sustainable Solutions, Terms of References and Technology". It will focus on potentials for cooperation between the two sides through discussions and seminars on resource management and officials in the fields of oil, gas offshore and sustainable development to reach excellence.
Prince Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway and H.E Yousef Omair bin Yousef, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company "ADNOC" will speak during the forum. A number of senior officials in the UAE and a group of experts and specialists in the field of economy from the Kingdom of Norway will participate in the open discussions during the meeting.
During the visit of the Crown Prince of Norway to the UAE, the first festival for food and traditional cuisine in Norway will be established to define the civilisation and culture of the people of Norway.
