Abdullah bin Zayed meets Peruvian Foreign Minister
Abu Dhabi, April 5, 2010 (WAM)- Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan received at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi yesterday afternoon, Peruvian Foreign Minister HE Jose Antonio Garcia-Belaunde and the accompanying delegation currently visiting the country.
Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the minister and his delegation and expressing his hope that the visit will strengthen the relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, they reviewed the progress and the development of the standing relations and joint cooperation in various avenues, and explored ways of enhancing them for the service of the common interests. They also exchanged views on the current developments on the regional and international levels, as well as a number of other issues of common concern.
The Peruvian minister hailed the outcome of the visit made by Sheikh Abdullah to Peru last year and his meeting with the President of Peru. This visit helped to open vast horizons and new areas for bilateral ties and formed a new framework for mutual cooperation in various fields, Belaunde added.
The visiting minister also hailed the comprehensive renaissance taking place in the UAE thanks to the wise leadership of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The meeting was attended by HE Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdul Rahim Al Awadhi Assistant to Foreign Minister for Legal and International Organisations Affairs and a number of senior officials.
