Zayed International Charity Marathon to be launched in New York in May
Abu Dhabi, April 8, 2010 (WAM)- The Zayed International Charity Marathon will be held on May 15th, 2010 in New York City to raise fund for the Healthy Kidney Centre. The marathon is being launched in New York as per the directives from H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Retired Lt. General Mohammed Hilal Al Ka'abi, Chairman of the UAE Armed Forces Officers' Club and head of the higher organising committee, reviewed the arrangements for the race and praised UAE embassy in Washington D.C and the international company "Road Runner" for organising this event which is in loyalty to the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and a contribution to honour his memory and to raise funds for kidney research.
The UAE Embassy in Washington announced its initiative to offer a special incentive for the runner who can break the record for the USD 20,000 race.
