Overseas operations contributed 14 percent of etisalat's revenues in 2009
Abu Dhabi, April 8, 2010 (WAM) Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (etisalat) revenues from overseas operations contributed 14 percent of its total revenues in 2009, compared with 9 percent in 2008, a senior official said yesterday.
etisalat's Chief Financial Officer Salem Al Sharhan said the telecom leader's revenues rose by 5 percent to Dh30.8 billion, while maintaining Dh11.3 billion in cash funds. Al Sharhan ruled out plans to increase the authorised capital during 2010. "We are not contemplating that for the time being, but our options remain open when need arises." He said that subscribers in Etisalat's different networks reached 107 million during 2009.
