RCA steps up humanitarian efforts in refugee camp in Yemen
Hajjah - April 11, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has stepped up the humanitarian programs for the care of ten thousand displaced people housed in refugee camp 'Al-Mazraq2' set up by UAE in Hajjah province in northern Yemen.
The camp was set up upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide care, shelter, healthcare, education and better living conditions for the displaced people. The camp enjoys the support of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
As per the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the RCA, the Authority stepped up the efforts to meet the growing needs of the displaced with the onset of summer as the temperature rises in these areas to higher rates, which requires an expansion of water services, electricity, and strengthening health services.
