Mohammed bin Rashid holds talks with visiting Maltese PM

Dubai, April 12, 2010 (WAM)- Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received yesterday at the Presidential Palace visiting Maltese Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi. As he welcomed the Maltese premier, Sheikh Mohammed hoped his visit would produce positive results that will boost bilateral relations in areas of economy, trade, investment as well as cultural and tourist exchange for the best interest of the two sides.
Sheikh Mohammed affirmed the UAE's sincere desire to build bridge of communications with different countries and peoples of the world for serving stability, peace and co-existence among cultures.
The Maltese prime minister invited Sheikh Mohammed to visit Malta. Sheikh Mohammed accepted the invitation and promised to pay it later.
He termed his trip to the UAE as '' very important'' and expressed willingness of his government and people to extend more channels of communications with the UAE and further strengthen its bonds of historic friendship with the Arab World.
He noted that UAE investments in Malta were the most successful and feasible economically, referring to the smart city project being carried out by the Dubai-based TECOM Investment which has created new job opportunities to Maltese youths.
He said that he was optimistic over agreements signed with Mubadala Development Company for executing joint investment ventures.
He also invited the public and private sectors in the UAE to establish joint ventures in Malta.
During his talks with Sheikh Mohammed, the Maltese premier said he was confident that his trip to the UAE would make a qualitative leap in the path of joint action for bolstering bilateral relations in sectors like trade, culture and tourism.
He indicated that UAE carries Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways play a vital role in connecting the two countries and spurring tourism exchange. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
