Abu Dhabi, April 29, 2010 (WAM)- Malaysian Minister of International Trade '&' Industry (MITI) Mustapa Mohamed said the Malaysian Services Exhibition, or MSE 2010, reflects deep-rooted trade relations with the UAE, Malaysia's biggest trading partner in Western Asia, and other Gulf countries.
The interest of UAE companies and investors in the Malaysian services showcase, held between April 13 and April 15th at Dubai International Convention Centre, reflects the trust regional countries has in Malaysian companies, according to Mohamed.
Gulf countries managed to overcome the global financial crisis which first unfolded in 2008, he noted, adding that this is reflected by the high turnout at MSE 2010, marking the start of new economic successes.
In the UAE, Malaysian companies carried out 71 contracts worth US$ 10.69 billion over the past few years, the Malaysian minister added noting that some of these contracts are related to Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Emirates Airline and Abu Dhabi's Reem Island development.
