Saif bin Zayed launches 'hope planter' initiative for people with special needs
Abu Dhabi, April 20, 2010 (WAM)- The Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said that being handicapped cannot hamper creativity whenever there is potential for work and production.
The remark was made on Monday during the launch of the hope planter initiative in which Sheikh Saif took part with people with special needs from the Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation and Care Center for People with Special Needs, to plant the palm at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi police.
By doing so, Sheikh Saif said "we are inspired by wise vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stated in his address to the nation on the 38th national day anniversary in which he called for the revival of societal solidarity and values".
He stressed the importance of planting being symbol for productivity and solidarity, adding that "it is great to see people with special needs surprising us with their unique talents even overcoming many healthy people".
The ‘hope planter’ initiative includes many activities, services and projects of the ministry of Interior, including the launch of police friends programme soon.
