Greek President receives Abdullah bin Zayed

Athens - April 28, 2010 (WAM)- Greek President Carlos Papoulias received yesterday in Athens UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Greek President and people.
The UAE Foreign minister said the relations between the two countries have improved, especially in the areas of navigation and shipbuilding industry, expressing his pleasure about the UAE investments in Greece.
For his part, the Greek President in turn conveyed his greetings to Sheikh Khalifa through, stressing that his country was keen to further bolster relations with the UAE. He added that the visit comes at a time Greece suffers from acute economic downturn, indicating that his country will undergo painful huge sacrifices to overcome the crisis. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and a number of issues of common interest. Present were HE Khalid Gahnem Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Abdul Hajji Al Khaja, UAE Ambassador to Greece and Greek Ambassador to UAE Dionisios Zois. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
