Sheikha Fatima orders setting up of Pioneer Centre for family protection in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, May 3, 2010 (WAM)- HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairwoman for the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the UAE Women's General Union has ordered setting up of the pioneer centre for protection of family in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The move comes in response to the initiative of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on social solidarity and in implementation of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Affairs Minister and Chairman of the Judiciary Department HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to set up a centre to help victims of the family violence. The move also matches with the strategy of the foundation for 2010-2014.
She noted that the Sheikh Khalifa's family solidarity initiative for 2010 would preserve family stability and fabric.
HE Ali Salem Al Ka'abi, director of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Affairs Minister, and Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Family Development Foundation, said the priorities of foundation are to shield individual, family and community from cultural invasion currents and serious bad conducts. He added that the setting up of the centre for protection of the family in the emirate of Abu Dhabi is a strategic project, adding that the foundation will provide full support to the centre to tackle family violence risks and cultural awareness.
