Takatof's volunteers at UAE Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai

Shanghai - May 5, 2010 (WAM)- A group of 20 UAE male and female volunteers from Takatof, a social volunteering program affiliated with The Emirates Foundation, are working at the at the UAE pavilion at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai fair, being held in China.
Takatof volunteers are tasked with representing the UAE, overseeing day-to-day activities at the pavilion, welcoming and interacting with thousands of visitors to the their country's pavilion which is supervised by the UAE's National Media Council, or NMC.
The UAE pavilion occupies an area of 6000 square metres in the heart of the Expo site showcasing the prosperity, harmony, culture and innovativeness of the UAE to the world.
Expo 2010 is the largest World Expo ever and is expected to attract 70 million visitors over a six-month period, May 1st to October 31st, 2010, the largest World Expo ever.
Takatof was established in Abu Dhabi in April 2007 to raise awareness of community needs, empower UAE individuals and encourage them to participate in specific volunteering opportunities promoting the concept of volunteering as the 'way of life'.
