Gargash opens UAE Cultural Days in Kazakhstan
Astana - May 12, 2010 (WAM)- Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash opened yesterday the UAE Cultural Days in Kazakhstan, held at the Pyramid Theatre in Astana. Dr Gargash praised the progressive ties between the two countries under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Nursultan A. Nazarbayev.
Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed stressed the importance of the cultural programme as an effective means for cultural exchange and thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his unlimited support to Kazakhstan. He said the economic and cultural programmes implemented by the UAE in his country reached a total value of US$ 1 billion. The event started with folklore dances by UAE troupes and a musical show. Dr Gargash also opened an exhibition for Arabic calligraphy, held as part of the Cultural Days.
