National Media Council, Google discuss cooperation

Abu Dhabi, May 30, 2010 (WAM)- A team of officials from the National Media Council (NMC) and Google discussed media cooperation on Friday.
During the meeting held at the Internet City in Dubai, Google was briefed on the role of the NMC in regulating the media sector, its work mechanisms and coordination among the media institutions in the country, in addition to its efforts to develop relations with media organisations across the world. The two sides discussed coordination between them in the field of legislation pertaining to the internet and electronic publishing and decided to continue cooperation within this framework.
The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Al Abed Director-General of the National Media Council, Mohammed Abdullah, Director Dubai Media City, Malik Al Malik Director-General of the Dubai Internet City and Ahmed Najib, IT Director at the NMC. From the side of the Google, Shona L. Brown, Senior Vice President - Business Operations, Google, Nelson Mattos, VP of engineering for Google and a number of other officials attended the meeting. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
