Al-Qasimi, Blair discuss efforts to shore up Palestinian economy
Bethlehem - June 3, 2010 (WAM)- UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi and Representative of the Middle East Quartet Tony Blair have discussed ways to lobby for support from governments and private sectors for the moribund Palestinian economy.
At the meeting which took place on the sidelines of the current "Investment in Palestine Conference", Sheikha Lubna urged Blair to mobilise international support for foreign investment flow into the Palestinian territories. She further also urged for partnerships between foreign investors and Palestinian entrepreneurs on projects.
Invigorating the Palestinian economy with foreign investments could decrease unemployment among Palestinians and create jobs for those who now solely rely on working for Israeli employers, according to Sheikha Lubna.
