UAE Policy is based on tolerance: says Director of the Human Rights Department at the Interior Ministry
Abu Dhabi, June 6, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE adopts tolerance policy and is open to all world peoples without segregation, said Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior Brig. Ahmed Nakhaira.
He added while receiving the US varsities that the economic and technological development in the UAE did not make it to ignore the social and humanitarian aspects in the development process, being the pillars in any economic and technological development.
Nakhaira noted that since its foundation the UAE has been updating education, judiciary and police to keep pace with progress in a way that serves public interest and human rights.
He briefed the visiting delegation about the efforts of the ministry to observe human rights and its role on combating crime.
A number of police officers answered the delegation's queries on the nature of human rights cases, law respect culture programmes and laws regulating human rights in the UAE.
