Lubna, Tunisian Minister discuss trade and investment ties

Abu Dhabi, June 7, 2010 (WAM)- UAE Foreign Trade Minister Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi discussed yesterday with Tunisian State Minister for International Cooperation and Foreign Investments Affairs Abdul Hamid Al Traiki, the bilateral relations and ways to boost them, especially in the trade and investment areas.
The two ministers also discussed the initiative to bring businesspersons of two countries together and the current investment projects, being implemented by the UAE Companies in Tunisian, as well as ways to enhance investment cooperation in the Tunisian developmental sectors.
Sheikha Lubna stressed keenness of the UAE to boost trade and economic cooperation with Tunisia, while the Tunisian official emphasises readiness of his country to further develop and expand base of cooperation with the UAE, citing that the UAE investments in Tunisia are the first at the Arab level.
Non oil trade between the two countries stood at US$90 million, with the UAE exports to Tunisia touching US$68 million, while the UAE imports from Tunisia were US$22 million. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
