UAE leadership is committed to protecting lives and properties of all: Saif
Abu Dhabi, June 15, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE higher leadership is keen on following up all government efforts for enhancing joint coordination and cooperation for protecting lives and properties by using full-proof mechanisms of action without any causalities under the standard model of response, HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, affirmed yesterday.
''A second of time could save a life of human being,'' Sheikh Saif said in an address to a workshop organised yesterday by the National Rescue and Search Committee.
''The UAE, under directives by the higher leadership, places all required precautionary measures to secure safe and stable life to Emiratis, residents and visitors within its top priorities given the fact that the UAE has become today one of the most developing and progressing nations in the world and its development is attracting many individuals and firms, Sheikh Saif added.
Major General Ahmed Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations, Abu Dhabi Police, said 22 federal and local entities and 52 participants were engaged in discussions to define the mandate and task of the Committee in order to arrive at the best international practices in rescue and search operations. Roles of each stakeholder and coordination of efforts and communication at times of emergencies were also examined. A number case-studies and marine rescue scenarios were reviewed. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
