Al-Ghurair: The Permanent Islamic Parliamentary Committee for Jerusalem will be formed within two weeks

Abu Dhabi, June 21, 2010 (WAM)- The Permanent Islamic Parliamentary Committee for Jerusalem will be formed within the next two weeks, it was disclosed here yesterday by Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Speaker of the UAE's Federal National Council and Chairman of the 13th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).
The PUIC executive committee started its 23rd meeting yesterday in Dubai with the participation of its members and representatives from nine countries ; Egypt , Algeria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Uganda, Turkey, Iran, Cameroon and Burkina Faso.
The meeting reviewed the report presented by the Secretary General of the PUIC regarding the recommendations and resolutions adopted at its earlier meeting which was held in Kampala, Uganda in January this year.
One of the decisions taken at the Kampala meeting pertained to the establishment of a Permanent parliamentary committee for Jerusalem affairs composed of MPs from OIC countries. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
