ADFD administers Dh129 million grant to Yemen

Abu Dhabi, June 23, 2010 (WAM)- On behalf of Government of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development signed a contract for Rehabilitation and Refurbishment of Aden Hotel in Yemen with a total contract amount of Dh129 million (US$35 million). The contract was signed by Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of the Fund and Hani Shehadeh the Area General Manager for Consolidated Contractors Group S.A.L (Offshore) (CCC) in the Republic of Yemen.
Al Suwaidi stressed that this initiative is in line with directives from the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the follow- up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development to support the development process in Yemen.
The project is undertaken as a part of grant that provided by the Government of Abu Dhabi in 2009 amounting to Dh2.24 billion, to finance several development projects in Republic of Yemen. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
