A unique website dedicated to the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage's participation at the Assilah Festival
Abu Dhabi, July 7, 2010 (WAM)- The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) showcases a spectrum of its wide programme of arts, culture, heritage and conservation initiatives and projects at the Assilah Art Festival, on the Atlantic coast of the North Eastern tip of Morocco, this July 10-27, 2010.
A specific website dedicated to the Assilah Festival: http://www.adach.ae/assilah was launched yesterday to provide lovers of culture, heritage and the arts with the latest news and reports of the entire programme that is taking place in Morocco.
This programme is part of the official representation of the UAE which is this year's country guest of honour at the Festival in recognition for its cultural achievements in the region and the world.
Dr Sami el Masri, Deputy Director General of ADACH said: "This web site will enable everyone who is unable to attend the festival to experience the programme of ADACH at first hand, from home. Video clips and high quality picture galleries will allow viewers to see ADACH's extensive contribution to the Assilah Festival. This website will also enable viewers to access podcasts of speeches, the cultural diplomacy panel discussions and live streaming of selected events, as we want to showcase our work to a wider regional audience."
There will also be an extensive programme of visual arts workshops, residences and exhibitions. Conferences about earthen architecture, ethnomusicology and cultural diplomacy as well as concerts of classical music fusion of European classical master works fused with traditional classical Arabic music. There will be a full calendar of events, biographies and profiles of all the participants with a background about the city of Assilah and a city guide.
The latest news on the events can also be followed on different social media channels that include Facebook and Twitter news updates. There will be videos and image galleries, artist profiles, on-the-ground updates, and a chance to interact with some of the participants themselves.
